In Q1 2025, SDSN Youth saw significant growth, welcoming new networks and engaging over 500 participants across events on four continents. From Asia to the Americas, some highlights of the last quarter include the SDG Innovation League in Hong Kong, the Youth Climate Conclave in India, and the Reforesting Cotapata initiative in Bolivia. Some of the other networks focused on impactful events, spanning from disaster risk workshops in Kazakhstan to leadership training in Benin, reinforcing our commitment to empowering youth through sustainability-focused initiatives globally.

Building Data Capacity in Kenya
SDSN Youth Kenya launched an online capacity development program in March. With 60 participants, the sessions focused on how youth organizations can better collect and report data for tracking progress on sustainable development.
Webinar and Beach Cleanup in Ghana
March brought a two-part initiative from SDSN Youth Ghana, starting with an online session about youth engagement in the SDGs, followed by a beach cleanup in Winneba. Nearly 200 participants contributed to environmental awareness and community pride.
Virtual Leadership Training in Benin
Throughout April, SDSN Youth Benin ran a series of online workshops building leadership and civic capacity. The training equipped 16 young participants with skills in communication, initiative design, and community organizing.
Reforesting Cotapata in Bolivia
In February, volunteers joined SDSN Youth Bolivia and local partners for a campaign in Cotapata National Park. Activities included a documentary screening and a reforestation hike—uniting over 100 participants around climate action and forest protection.
Youth Climate Conclave in South Asia
Held in March in New Delhi, the fifth Youth Climate Conclave brought together 100 young people from across India. Through workshops, a photography exhibition, and the drafting of a Youth Pledge, the event helped amplify youth voices in global climate dialogues.
SDG Innovation League in Hong Kong
In February and March, over 300 students took part in the SDG Innovation League, co-hosted by SDSN Youth Hong Kong. Through games, mentoring, and a final pitch competition, students tackled sustainability challenges with creativity and teamwork.
Collaborative Dialogue on Youth & Business in Indonesia
In January, SDSN Youth Indonesia and UNDP gathered over 120 youth leaders in Jakarta to explore the role of youth and media in shaping responsible business. The event encouraged new strategies for aligning human rights, entrepreneurship, and economic Growth.
Workshop on Disaster Risk Reduction in Kazakhstan
In February, a timely workshop addressed the importance of reducing disaster risks in the face of a changing climate. Participants examined both technical and community-based approaches to risk Management.
SDG Week 2025 in Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan kicked off a week of SDG-focused activities across March and April, including student-led workshops, community outreach, and online engagement. The initiative highlighted the broad interest in sustainable development topics among youth.
Lecture: ESG In Focus in Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan concluded the quarter with a lecture on careers in Environmental, Social, and Governance
(ESG). It offered guidance for students hoping to align their skills with the growing demand for sustainability leadership.
