The Sustainable Development Solutions Network Youth Initiative (SDSN-Youth) is delighted to announce the 2024 Local Pathways Fellows (LPF) cohort. Following an exhaustive selection process, we are honored to introduce 103 exceptional young professionals from 51 countries and 85 cities. These individuals were chosen from a highly competitive pool of 1740 applicants for this prestigious fellowship.

The selected cohort represents a diverse array of backgrounds and expertise. From urban planners to environmental activists, social entrepreneurs to tech innovators, the 2024 cohort constitutes a vibrant community of young leaders committed to positively impacting their local communities and beyond.

"In this era of rapid change, where the convergence of global crises and technological advancements redefine our cities, the call for a holistic approach grows louder. At the Local Pathways Fellowship, we embrace the dynamism of our times by constantly engaging young people from diverse backgrounds in shaping the future of urban development. We believe in the power of young voices to steer the course of our shared destiny. With unwavering commitment, we cultivate their ingenuity and empower them to become catalysts for positive change." - Nnaemeka Phil Eke-okocha, Project Lead of the Local Pathways Fellowship program.

The Local Pathways Fellows program, spanning 10 months, empowers young innovators to critically analyze their local contexts and develop projects aimed at addressing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through comprehensive training, mentorship, and support, fellows will acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to drive meaningful change and contribute to the global endeavor for sustainable development.

Reflecting on her experience as a 2023 Local Pathways Fellow based in Ahmedabad, India, Devanshi Shah shares, "Participating in the LPF has been instrumental in my academic, professional, and personal development. Engaging with a diverse cohort and industry experts broadened my perspectives, while monthly seminars and real-world projects honed my skills."

By leveraging their diverse backgrounds, the fellows will be equipped to tackle the complex challenges in their communities and make tangible progress toward achieving the SDGs.
