SDSN Youth Turkey is hosted at Boğaziçi University, in Istanbul, Turkey.
As Turkey Network Coordinator, Zehra is the official manager and representative of SDSN Youth in Turkey. She manages, oversees, and coordinates the local SDSN Youth network of program members, stakeholders, and external partnerships. While Turkey Network Managers manage the SDSN stakeholders and institutions within a region, as the Youth Network Coordinator, she focuses on engaging the young people within those groups. She has a key position in understanding the state of youth mobilization towards the SDGs in her given region-acting as the key local point of contact for anything youth x SDG related in Turkey. Zehra graduated from Yıldız Technical University as an environmental engineer. Immediately after graduation, she worked as a volunteer for one year in an NGO in Poland on educating young people about sustainability and the climate crisis. Currently, she is doing a master’s degree in socio-ecological sustainability field at Bogazici University. She focuses on areas such as climate change policies, climate crisis, climate justice, ecological economy and renewable energy transformation in her graduate education. Outside of her role, she works as the Sales and Corporate Relations Manager for a social enterprise that develops technologies to combat the climate crisis.
