Vatican Youth Symposium

The Vatican Youth Symposium, organized by the SDSN Youth and the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences (PASS), is an annual gathering of young leaders and experts from around the world, discussing and generating solutions for the most urgent issues of humanity.

The Symposium, in its ninth year, has developed into a leading global forum for young leaders in sustainable development and an intergenerational platform for building social movements.

The 2025 theme, “Voices of Change: Sparking Hope with Sustainable Solutions,” prompted participants to consider how youth can envision and create a form of progress that — in the word of Pope Francis  — is “healthier, more human, more social and more integral.” The Symposium took place on April 3-4, 2025, at the Casina Pio IV in the Vatican City.

Core sessions were categorized into thematic areas split over two days: Education for Sustainable Development, Sustainable Urbanization, Human Rights and Dignity, Climate Action, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and the Role of Youth in the Post-2030 World. Speakers presented inspiring messages on these relevant topics and inspire participants to take action, engage in meaningful discussions, and contribute their ideas toward innovative solutions for a sustainable future.
